MACBETH: A PORTER’S TALE

2018 Booklet PP9 - Title Image

WRITTEN BY MATTHEW CAFFOE

DIRECTED BY MATTHEW CAFFOE & NICOLE REILLY

PERFORMED BY MATTHEW CAFFOE

Malcom has taken back Scotland and Macbeth is dead. The surviving staff of Macbeth's reign are being persecuted for their affiliation with Macbeth and Lady Macbeth's treason. Frank Porter, who also works as a Porter (he is aware of the irony), delivers a chilling and decisively analytical retelling of what ACTUALLY happened between Macbeth and Lady Macbeth.

This production tackles the gaps and silences left by William Shakespeare and is an alternate (or resistant) reading to the original text, uncovering plots that you may have missed during your first reading.
